£600 raised at our Rene Pearce Charity Trial
From L to R: John Sabotig, Helen Soby, Dr Robin Buckland, John Luckett, Alan Barnes, Gill Sabotig
Host John Sabotig together with Alan Barnes and Stuart Cann prepared an excellent mixture of new and old sections through the woody valley at Hessaford Farm. Sections 1, 3 and 5 were the most challenging however this did not stop close competition in the Over 50’s class with Jonathan Souch picking up just one mark whilst Pete Rush had a clean sheet. We were very pleased to see so many youth riders with congratulations going to Albert Chugg who picked up just one mark in the YD Championship class. Well done to all who competed.
Special thanks for the support shown by Launceston club members and to all those observers who kindly donated their fuel money to the this years charity. Thanks to everyone’s generosity a wonderful £560.00 was raised for the Children’s Holiday Foundation N Devon. Please go to the EVENTS RESULTS page for a copy of the PROVISIONAL results.
After a slow start entries picked up in the week before the trial and we were happy to welcome lots of ‘on the day’ entrants including AMCA members. Donations from our brilliant team of observers, officials, well-wishers, riders and profits from rider fees totalled £600 which we are delighted to donate to the Childrens Holiday Foundation North Devon. Founded by Dr Robin Buckland in 1993 the charity's mission is to provide holidays of a lifetime to Florida for children with critical, life affecting/limiting illness and disabilities. You can donate and read all about the charity's marvellous work at https://chfnd.org.uk
Hosts Gill and John Sabotig said "We would like to thank everyone who supported us this year as we know people’s finances have been squeezed in recent times. We have hosted the Charity Trial for more than 17 years, which has now raised over £14,693 for a variety of good causes."
Club Chairman Darren Lulham added "The Rene Pearce Charity Trial is an important date in the clubs calendar. My thanks to John & Gill, and to all those who competed or officiated, for raising awareness and funds for the excellent Childrens Holiday Foundation". |
