Rene Pearce Charity Trial & Youth D Championship – Sunday 21st July. Permit no. 203628

Thank you to everyone who entered this trial, a very pleasing turnout in the end and with much improved weather from the previous day. Before the riders set off it was with sadness that we took a quiet minute to remember Bonham Jewell a great friend to and supporter of our club.

Special thanks for the support shown by Launceston club members and to all those observers who kindly donated their fuel money to the this years charity. Thanks to everyone’s generosity a wonderful £560.00 was raised for the Children’s Holiday Foundation N Devon. Please go to the EVENTS RESULTS page for a copy of the PROVISIONAL results.

This year we are delighted to be supporting the wonderful Children's Holiday Foundation North Devon (registration 1076817). Founded by Dr Robin Buckland in 1993 the charity's mission is to provide holidays of a lifetime to Florida for children with critical, life affecting/limiting illness and disabilities. You can donate and read all about the charity's marvellous work at https://chfnd.org.uk

Our Friend Bonham Jewell

You may not have known his name but most, if not all, local motor enthusiasts will recognize Bonham who sadly died in June following a short illness. Bonham was fanatical about all things motorized (but especially motorcycles) and shared his passion with all who met him. He rode competitively for many years but always for the shear joy of it. In the last few years Bonham was a familiar face at many trials across Devon and parts of Cornwall always happy to oblige a club by turning out to observe whatever the weather. Bonham will always hold a special place in the hearts and memories of all at T&DMCC.

Bonham’s funeral takes place at 14:00hrs on Friday 9th August at All Hallows Church, Woolsery, EX39 5QF. Black apparel is not required Bonham would expect you in your overalls, wellies or trials clothing. For those who wish to mark Bonham’s passing donations to the Devon Air Ambulance would be appreciated in place of flowers or other tributes.
